Building Permits & Inspections
The Building and Inspections Department will strive to assist you with your construction project in an efficient and accountable manner. They are responsible for permitting all construction and conducting inspections of all construction-related permits.
Buildings permits are required before any excavation for or the construction of any building. Permits are required for fences, decks, sidewalks, patios, driveways and dog runs also. Allow 10 days for approval. A permit is needed from the State and Jones County if your property is in the flood plain. The Building Permits and Inspections Department is responsible for:
- Issuing building permits
- Issuing Fence permits
- Reviewing building plans
- Working directly with the Planning and Zoning Commission
